Charitable Giving: Green Square Meals
TrueNorth is proud to sponsor Green Square Meals during the month of March. Green Square Meals provides a hot dinner during the week to those in need. During Iowa's exceptionallly cold winter, Green Square Meals also opened their doors to the homeless on nights when temperatures plummeted to single digits.
Located at 605 2nd Avenue Southeast in Cedar Rapids, Green Square Meals is always in need of volunteers to help prepare and serve their meals on a daily basis. Their website attributes the organization's success to "individuals and organizations, as well as churches that all put in many hours of help each month to make these meals available" for those struggling and in need. During the month of March, TrueNorth's home office will be raising money to stock their shelves after a frigid winter.
Additionally, our TrueNorth office in Longmont, Colorado recently participated in GO Feed, donating canned goods and non-parishables to OUR Center, a local shelter and community resource in for the less fortunate, helping them continue their progession toward self-sufficiency.
