Charitable Giving: Time in a Bottle
TrueNorth's charitable cause for the month of October is Time in a Bottle, a local cause founded by the Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based cleaning group, Absolutely Clean. This month, we will be helping Absolutely Clean provide precious "time" to parents and guardiens of children with life-threatening illnesses by raising money that will help the organization keep these families' homes clean, tidy and safe.
About Time in a Bottle:
When families encounter hardship, daily chores and routines suffer the effort to adapt. What was once considered an integral part of everyday life now seems tedious and menial compared to new decisions and challenges the group must make and overcome.Time in a Bottle's mission is to aid struggling families by offering cleaning assistance free of charge. Absolutely Clean will assume the burden of cleaning the family home, providing parents that time and energy to share with their children.
Some facts about Absolutely Clean's Time in a Bottle:
- Absolutely Clean has donated $100,000+ in free home cleanings since its founding in 2001
- Absolutely Clean's owner, Stephanie Nesseth is the proud mother of a childhood cancer survivor
- The cleaning company is comprised of 18 full-time employees, many of whom are mothers of busy families.
- Time in a Bottle is made possible through donated hours by Absolutely Clean employees and monetary donations that fund the costs of cleaning products and supplies.

How TrueNorth Plans to Help:
- On the 14th of this month, TrueNorth's Risk Management division will be hosting a building-wide bake sale - all proceeds will benefit Time in a Bottle.
- During the third week of October, TrueNorth staff will have the opportunity to purchase game packets and compete for small prizes each day. The cost of each packet will be donated to Time in a Bottle.
- Throughout the month of October, TrueNorth employees can enter their carved pumpkins in a company-wide contest. The voting will take place over two days. The winning pumpkin determined by the amount of pocket change it generates.
